Dr. Kevin O’Connor, former doctor of President Joe Biden at the White House, refused to answer questions when he appeared briefly before the Supervision Committee of the House of Representatives on Wednesday for an interview Transcribed in Closed Door.

O’Connor was summoned by the president of the Republican Party James to eat as part of an investigation led by Republicans about Biden’s mental aptitude and the use of a presidential autopilot while he was in office.

O’Connor’s lawyer, David Schertler, said in a statement that the doctor, “said the medical-patient privilege, as well as his right under the fifth amendment to the United States Constitution, by declining to answer questions of the staff of the Committee for Supervision and Reform of the Government of the Chamber with respect to his service as a doctor to the President during the Biden administration.”

Eating also said that the doctor continually declared the fifth amendment, the right to refuse to answer questions in which someone could incriminate themselves.

“This is not precedents. And I think this adds more fuel to the fire that there was a cover -up,” said the congressman.

O’Connor did not take any questions from the journalists when he arrived and left the Rayburn House office building on Wednesday morning.

Doctors have the legal obligation not to talk about things such as interactions, diagnosis and patient treatments. Sharing this information can lead to civil and criminal sanctions, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.

The Supervision Committee of the House of Representatives has requested interviews with several of the ancient assistants of the White House of Biden in the light of the reports that question their mental aptitude in their last year in the position and the alleged efforts of those who surround it to hide it, the accusations of Biden have denied vehement.

Neera Tanden, who served as director of the Domestic Policy Council of the White House under Biden, sat for the testimony at the end of June. When the reporters asked him if there was an effort to disguise the condition of Biden, Tanden replied: “Absolutely not.”

Eating said Wednesday that the investigation of the Republican party will continue.

“We have several other witnesses who will come for transcribed interviews,” he said.

Trump’s White House resigned from the executive privilege for O’Connor before his appearance. The Chamber’s Supervision Committee previously requested that O’Connor and the attendees sit for interviews while Biden was president, but Biden blocked the application.

Months after leaving the White House, Biden was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer.

Biden rejected the cognitive deterioration reports during an appearance in “The View” by ABC in early May, before his office announced his cancer diagnosis.

“They are wrong. There is nothing to hold that,” Biden said at that time.

Former first lady Jill Biden, in the same interview, strongly backed away the accusations she protected Biden from the allies and the public.

“I did not create a cocoon around him. I mean, you saw it in the Oval office. You saw him say speeches. He was not hidden somewhere,” he said.

Since then, former President Biden has spoken in some events, even at the annual conference of the Society for Human Resources Management in San Diego last week, where he reflected on his leadership and career.
